Students and parents should review school policies in Student/Parent Handbook regarding attendance. NRS 392.122 is the basis for the ACE Attendance Policy. Students are required to attend 90% of school to earn credit. Students must notify the office in the event of illness while at school so arrangements with parents can be made. Parents must send a note or call the school regarding any absences. This must be done within 2 days after the student returns to school. Calls or notes in advance are always appreciated. ACE uses an automated computer phone system to notify parents of daily absences.

Safe and Respectful Learning Environment

The policy of the Academy for Career Education is that all students and employees shall be free from bullying, cyber-bullying, harassment, or intimidation. All reports of these offenses are to be taken seriously by students, staff, administrators, and parents. The school will make every reasonable effort to respond, investigate and resolve a complaint filed by any student or employee in a fair, thorough, and timely manner. The school has a Safe School Policy that is detailed in the Student/Parent Handbook that addresses the school’s response and protocols. Every reasonable effort will be made to protect the due-process rights of all victims and alleged offenders.

You can earn credit for Work Experience and PE anytime during the year regardless of when it’s on your schedule or IF it’s on your schedule! These are credits you can earn on your own time, anytime! Please note, you can NOT fail either of these classes – but you must earn 2 PE credits to graduate. If you have PE listed on your schedule – you need PE credits! All 9th graders need PE credit, even though it’s NOT on your schedule.
