They say home is where the heart is. For ACE High School, this couldn’t be truer. Both students and faculty pour their heart into the Student-Built House project, building a home from the ground up—including all phases of planning and construction—to give the students a unique and unparalleled “real world” learning experience.
Prior to starting work on the house, each student must receive his or her 10-hour OSHA card and OSHA safety card for powder-actuated and laser tools.
The house is energy efficient, featuring all Energy Star appliances and a PV Solar System, along with tile flooring, central air conditioning, custom landscaping and much more. Once the house is complete, it is auctioned off and all profits go towards next year’s project.
