Drafting is the process of turning ideas of how things should be constructed into drawings. These drawings, which are based upon sketches and calculations made by engineers, surveyors, architects or scientist, provide visual guidelines such as dimensions, materials to be used, and procedures to be followed.
Before CADD (Computer Aided Drafting and Design), drafters sat at drawing boards and used pencils, pens, compasses, protractors, triangles and other drafting devices to prepare a drawing manually. Now, most drafter use CADD to create computerized drawings on a screen. This way, drafter can make revisions quickly and easily.
CADD drawings can be used to build everything from manufactured products, such as toys, toasters, industrial machinery, or spacecraft, to structures such as houses, office buildings, or oil and gas pipelines.
Our CADD program gives you an opportunity to learn computer aided drafting (AutoCAD), to create drawings in 2-D, 3-D, and 3-D VIZ. You will receive training in residential drafting, mechanical drawing, light commercial drafting, structural and commercial detailing, and structural steel drawings.
In this program, you will receive training applicable and required for careers in the following areas:
CADD Design

Construction
Architecture
Civil Engineering
Electronics Manufacturing
Mechanical Engineering
