10 ACE students head to nationals in skills competition

Students from the Academy for Career Education High School
placed first in six individual events and took the TeamWorks
title in the recent Nevada Skills USA competition held last
week at the Reno Events Center.
More than a dozen aras in the occupational and technical fields
are covered in the competition. The event allows students
to compete for a shot at the national competition.
ACE High School had 42 students compete, placing in the following
events:
Architectural drafting: First place, Josh Jones; second place,
Adam Brayton
Carpentry: Third place, Brandon Kirn
Diesel equipment technology: First place, Josh Snyder; second
place, Eddie Cadra; third place, Michael Adams
Masonry: First place, Jose G. Rodriguez; second place, Amanda
Wendland
Plumbing: First place Jeff Flores; third place, Coty Munson
Power equipment technology: First place, Tayler Dahlberg
Sheet metal: First place, Bobby Wilson
TeamWorks: First place, Gilbert Brenneman, Mike Fauth, Isaac
Rodriguez and Jason Williams
ACE is a tuition-free, construction trades/engineering, charter
high school for 10th through 12th grade students.
